8 mukhi - ashta mukhi rudraksha, benefits and uses of eight mukhi.
Ashta mukhi is mentioned in various ancient sources such as the Shiva Maha Puran (Vidyesvara Samhita) Chapter 25 part 73 where it mentions;‘A Rudraksha with eight faces is called Vasumurti, and Bhairava.By wearing it a man lives a full span of life. After death he becomes the trident wearing Shiva.’In Padma Puran Chapter 68 part 72:‘The eight-mouthed Rudraksha, the general of the army is actually the God Vinayaka himself.Hear from me what merit one gets by wearing such a Rudraksha only. For birth after birth he will not be born a fool, or a patient, and would not be deprived of intelligence. Never any difficulty in his undertakings. He will have deftness in his writings and skill in great undertakings. He fully destroys all his touching his preceptor’s wife or touching her with his belly or hand. Having eternally enjoyed heaven, and being free he gets a high position.’ Also mentioned in Nirnayasindhu, Rudrakshajabalopanisad, and Srimaddevibhagavat.
