This Rudraksha bead represents the Goddess Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth and according to the Vaishanavites the beads represents Avanta the king of serpents. Saptamukhi is mentioned in various ancient sources such as the Shiva MahaPuran (Vidyesvara Samhita) Chapter 25 part 72 where it mentions;‘A Rudraksha with seven faces, O Mahesani is called Anaga. O Devasi, by wearing it even a poor man become a great lord.’In Padma Puran Chapter 62 part 67:‘The seven-mouthed one is Ananta, the king of serpents and the General of Great Army. In every mouth of this Rudraksha serpents have settled. They are : Ananta, Karkata, and Pandrika and also Taksaka, Visolbana, and Karisa and the seventh is Sankhacuda. These very powerful serpents live in the seven mouths. Merely by wearing this on one’s body, poison does not spread over the body and like the lord of serpents Siva is also very much pleased. Due to him being pleased all sins due to brahmanacide, drinking liquor, stealing etc, and violoating one’s teacher’s wife, perish day by day. All the sin that man has obtained perishes that moment only.
